Where you are lucky enough to live in an area where we have our own fibre deployed, this page will help you understand what to expect during your installation.

Standard & Non-standard Installation

If the distance from the CPE to the fibre entry point in your property is more than 5 metres from it’s location on the wall, then a site survey and additional installation charges may be required.

It is a necessary requirement for us to have an adult over the age of 18 present throughout the below install process.  Either you or your nominated representative will be required to approve the installation with our technicians.

External installation

It all begins outside…

  1. Our installation team will work with you to map the route for the fibre cable from the street to where it enters your property and connects to an ONU.

  2. We’ll then start on the external installation by bringing the cable through the duct or from the pole to the agreed CCP location on your property.

  3. Once we’ve finished installing the fibre from the street to the CCP, we will then progress to the internal installation work.

Internal Installation

Once the fibre is connected on the outside, time to bring it inside! We’ll run the fibre into your property in the following order;

  1. We will drill a small hole to the agreed fibre CCP located on the outside of the property.

  2. We’ll feed the fibre through the hole and neatly secure it to the outside of the property. We will then seal the hole to make sure it is weather proof and tidy.

  3. We will attach the Fibre Wall Outlet (FWO) to an internal wall. This can be located at the same place as the hole through the wall or up to 15 metres away from the fibre entry point - Please note, for installations where more than 3 metres of internal cabling is requested this would fall under the “non-standard” installation category and additional costs and delays may occur.

  4. Once the FWO has been installed, we will install the 1310 provided ONU and router and activate your connection. The engineer will also demonstrate the connection speed for your approval.
